1.Stocks: A share of ownership in a company. "I just bought 30% of Under Armour's stocks and am now considered a large part in the company.
2.Bonds: A debt investment where the investor loans money to a business or corporation that borrows funds and returns money with interest. "The state issued a bond to help the school build a football field.
3. Dow Jones: An indicator of stock market prices, based on the share values listed on the stock exchange. "I checked how the Dow Jones was doing that day and guessed my stock was down because the Dow was down"
4. Equity: The market value minus the expenses. "The Equity on my house is very high so right now would be a good time to sell it"
5. Dividends: Money payed to a number of people (shareholders) by a company. "I bought the stock as an investment so i could collect a dividend.
6. Earnings: Amount of profit a company produces. "The company's large earnings enabled them to buy new equipment"
7.Private Vs. Public companies: Private companie's stocks cannot be bought by the public but public companie's can be. "I got a job at that private company and now i can buy stock that most others do not have the opportunity to buy"
8. Growth stock: Shares of a company whose earnings are expected to grow above average. "i bought a growth stock hoping to make a huge chunk of money"
9. Private vs. Public: Private companies stocks can only be owned by employees and public company's stocks can be owned by anyone. "The stock i wanted to invest in happened to be a private company so i went and got a job there so i could buy their stock.
10.Small Cap:stocks wit a small market capitalization. I bought a small cap stock for $5
11.Mid cap: Stocks with an average market capitalization. I bought a mid cap stock for $75.
12.Large cap: Largest market capitalization. I bought a large cap stock for $250.
13.Dow Jones: an average price of 30 U.S. stocks. I keep my money in one of the 30 stocks involved in the Dow Jones
14.S&P 500: 500 Large-cap stocks actively traded in the U.S. "I trade stocks that are part of the S&P 500 so that they will be easy to get rid of when i am Ready."
15.Russell 2000:Index measuring the performance of 2000 small companies. "to buy cheep stocks, look into the russell 2000.
16.Treasury Bond:a government loan with a fixed rate and a maturity of over 10 years. "I bought a treasury bond so i would make some money off the government."
17.Inflation: Rising and falling of prices "This stock keeps going up and down and i am sick of the amount of inflation"
18.Gross Domestic Product: Value of all finished goods produced by a country in a year. "If the GDP is down, it could mean people are just buying used things instead of paying more money for new things"
19.Currency: Money "I need to converty my U.S. currency to mexican Currency"
20.Infrastructure: Base or foundation. "the railroad is one of the main infrastructures in America"
21.Economy: the wealth of a region. "Wyoming's economy is based alot on natural resources."
22.Economic sytem: a system of producing distributing and consumption. "our economic system involves many parts and everyone is part of it."
23.supply and demand: Higher demand for a product results in higher price and vice versa. "supply and demand is a huge decider of how our economy is doing"
24.interest:the charge for borrowing money. "I was charged 4% interest on my loan."
25.assets: something physical that has value. "my personal assets include many pieces of art."
26.accounts payable: a file or account that records how much someone owes. "the government's accounts payable is bigger than its accounts receiveable."
27.Accounts recievable: What money is owed to you "We had alot of accounts recieveable which means we had a great week."
28.Amoritize: To pay off the cost of something with multiple payments. "I Amoritized the payment on my house"
29.Economic index: series of economic measurements "I Checked the Dow Jones today and it is going up indicating a good economy"
30.Depriciation: value is going down "the value of a car depreciates when it is driven off the lot"
31.Gross Margin: Profits divided by the net sales. "Our Gross margin was alot more than what we made the products for."
